Do you guys know what is the strongest safest medication to treat a stingray with for cloudy eye?

My male hystrix has had cloudy eye for a very long time. I know it is not a water quality issue cause he is the only one that has had it and my water quality is good.

I've treated him with API Furan-2 and it helped clear it up but when I moved him back to the main tank, a few weeks later it came back. I moved him out into a hospital tank 2 weeks ago and have been treating him with melafix for a couple weeks now. It is getting better but I still see it slightly cloudy like when I used Furan-2 and I am afraid that it will come back again. I've been dosing melafix everyday like it recommends on the bottle.

Is there a stronger medication I can use to help clear his eyes up?

What do you guys think of oxytetracycline or nitrofuracin?

These are some old pics but its basically what it looks like, its not a bad case but it is still there and is bugging me..

Edit: I've been monitoring the pH and its steady at 7.8 so my pH is not fluctuating either.

I can't seem to clear it up so any help would be appreciated.

Interesting. My male hystrix is the same way. Never understood why that was but out of 10 rays, he's the only one. I think it does have something to do with the water though...maybe the hardness. I sold my male hystrix a while ago and under the new owner's care (in a different city and state), his eyes cleared up. I bought him back and once I put him into my tanks, his eyes got a little foggy again. This leads me to think it is indeed something about the water that does not agree with this particular ray. I was never concerned though as the I've had the ray since he was a new born and he is very healthy. Interesting...

Interesting indeed, I've had this guy since he was a newborn as well.. I don't want to let him go though.. and I'm definitely not about to switch to RO water just because of one fish..

Could be a hardness problem cause the water here is pretty dam hard.

Makes me wonder if I am wasting money on all these medications to try and fix his eyes....
