ray spiting

Im not worried about this but if she didnt then I would be. My female Henlei every times she is prego goes up the back of the tank, sucks in water and spits it out of the tank. Ive been hit with water as far as 6 feet away and she soaks the wall. Anyone ever seen or heard of something like this?
 
That is such a cool behavior; it has been observed from Potamotrygon scobina by researchers. Get it on video!
 
wow! I can't imagine what she would be trying to accomplish by doing this.. you gotta get a video.

I've gone to the fridge in the morning and my leopoldi/pearl crossbred ray clung to the side of the tank and hit me with a jet of water from about 6' away. I would assume that he recognized the light and then saw me walk past without feeding him. Rays can have quite the personalities.

she is hungry, reasearchers noticed this type of behavior before and linked it back to when the rays wanted food
 
its normal every ray i have had spits water

they go to the back glass were the filter pipes are and spit water out the side of the pipes
