So I have a motoro hybrid that I picked up several months ago. Up until about a week ago, he has been doing awesome and devouring Hikari predator pellets.

However, I have noticed recently that that his appetite has been less than stellar, and just a few days ago he didn't eat at all and he is starting to loose weight. The true parrot cichlid I house with him is doing fine, and doesn't touch the ray at all. Water and such is all good.

Any ideas what might be wrong with him ?

You say water quality is fine. Is that a guess or did you actually check it? What did your parameters come back at?

Water change step one every day for the next couple days see if it helps. Also check filters for rotting food that may have sucked up in the filter

Another idea , is to always pull out any other fish that are in the tank.
If the rays are picked on, they'll stop eating.
I learned this the hard way. Even if it doesn't seem like it's happening. It could when lights go out .
