Ray swims close to the surface of water

Lately my male ray likes to swim over the airstone, and stays on very close to the surface of the water... is this normal? i have 2 more rays in the tank, but they dont do that.

I don't think that's a good sign. If it swims over the bubbles in the water then I would say that's OK but not on the surface.

4 out of 5 of my motoros like to swim over the airstones or near the surface infront of my spraybar or filter outlets.guess they like the current

Hmm.. from my 2 minutes of observation..

2 rays, 20" Arowana, and some datnoids. in 180g tank


previous posts about; frothy bubbles on the surface, cloudy eye, strange growth on ray, and water changes..


I would say, 100%, it is your water quality.
