Hi,

Is glass or acrylic preferred for ray tanks? I have a space that is roughly 7'x3' for a footprint. I know the recommendations for motoros and the black rays is 8'x4' but also know people on here keeping them in smaller.

What are your thoughts?

Would an arowanna be able to go in this tank - glass or acrylic for them?

I have always done glass but have kept reef tanks where you get high amounts of algae and lots of rockwork. I assuming ray tanks do not have the algae issues since it does not seem like super high lighting is utilized.

Thanks!

As long as the footprint is good for rays (wide as opposed to tall), either will work.

I prefer acrylic, but glass will work just the same.

You're right when it comes to the algae; lighting is for you, as rays need no artificial light.
