I'm thinking of building a 10' Long x 42" wide x 30" high built-in ray tank along the wall in our family room where our big screen TV is. The tank would be in the furnace room on the other side of the wall so all you will see from the media room is the front Payne of glass. The TV is at one end of the room and the tank would be on the side wall about 8' from the TV. I'm concerned the glare and flashing of the TV (especially in the action movies) will stress the rays out. Does anyone else have their ray tanks in close proximity to their big screen TV and have they noticed any effect on their rays?

hey quick Q what are you building the tank out of? cuz im not sure what ill build mine out of ... its the same length but a bit shorter and a bit wider

When you watch a show just turn the lights off or cover the tank. That's what I have to do. Sounds like your set up will be nice.

I was thinking of doing that but I would have to have a curtain rod and slide a curtain across the front of the tank as it would be right against the wall on the furnace room side.

My Big screen TV is the centre divider of my 520 and 450 and the 230 is also in the same room. No problems at all.

My 600 10' x 4' x 2' is about 6 feet away from the tv ans the subwoofer is right next to the tank. the fish/rays dont care at all. I would also go with a 48" footprint! I love mine!
