Lookin for some good tank mates to help break up ray bio. Heard bala shark are good for this is this true?. I kinda lik flag tails better but also heard they love sucking slime? What mates to do guys use to break up ray crap?

I dont use any type of clean up crew, I keep so much flow that no waste ever sits on bottom. In fact I havent seen waste in my large setup in a very long time. With that being said, eartheaters work very well as they constantly are sifting through the substrate allowing it to be sucked into mechanical filtration. This also allows the substrate to be turned over.

I haven't once vacuumed the gravel in the only ray tank I currently have a substrate in. Water flow and active rays are all I've needed to keep it clean.

My BB ray tanks are pretty much spotless except for maybe 20 mins after someone takes a dump.

tinfoil barbs eat ray crap

but if you are having problems with the bio then surely adding more fish wont be a good idea more fish more bio

I agree with this 100% if bio load is a problem adding more fish will not help the problem. Yes, they will possibly eat ray waste but then they will have waste of their own.

No nuttin to do with water param their fine my rays are swimming over their crap and i just want it sucked up or eaten.

I would recommend you silver dollars and tinfoil barbs they should do the job....Other then that I would recommend a better filtration system...

Thanks I'll starting looking for those 2 fish. My filtration is great It's over kill for my gallons and stock. i just want the crap broken up so the filter will suck it up. Those huge dumps don't float or roll around much.
