well i gave the idea to my mom of setting up an indoor pond and she never said no some im thinking about getting some rays. the only prob its the size of the place i would put it is 4'l x 3'w x how ever tall i wanna make it. would this be enough room for a ray to live for life?

hell yea, should be big enough for most species! i'd make it 2.5 ft high or 3 feet!

a 4x3x3 tank would be good for a single ray maby a breeding pair :] u mostly gotta worry about width they have to be alble to laydown streched out flat with out touching the edges ofthe aquarium

yea man thats a huge pond, you could get a cpl of motoros or reticulatas. retics are half the price and size, but whatever you choose get 2 femals and 1 male!!!!

thank for the quick responces, i was thinking about a 4x3x3. and maybe trying my luck with breeding just got to read up a ton first. my lfs sells motoros and this other kind which im not sure of. its all gray and has a pointed nose. they lable it as a florida ray.

your lfs proly sells chain link motos
ther preatty cheap and easy to care for
just get 2 girls and one guy
guys have a little extra set of fins by there tail there called claspers there used to mate
all u gotta do is give good water tank params and temp and most of all u gotta fatten em up it takes a lot of energy for a mom to make pups and she has to be feed very well market shrimp earth worms blood worms black worms

you wont need it to be 3 foot high at all. the footprint is the main point, which would be 4 by 3. a motoro would prob be ok. i would go for a few of some of the smaller rays though, like yepezi, hystrix etc though and try breeding them
