so what do you guys run your ray tank temps at?

different for different rays?

i always kept my old rays at a temp of 26c and never had a problem, they were fat, happy and active.

i keep reading how ppl now keep them at hotter temps, like up to 30c! (84f) dose this increase appetite? do the rays enjoy the higher temp?

at the moment mine is 27c as i turned it up slightly but was recomended to go higher.

i was also advised to add lots of flow in the tank, i already have plenty.

I prefare to keep mine at 82-84f.
They do eat better ,
The higher the temperature the less oxygen the water carrries so ...
Lots of air and flow too .

Depends on the species. Different animals are found in different temps.... some as low as 70F. I usually try to keep it as close to the natural area that the animals are found in.

78-80 F Higher temps equal higher motabolism, more oxygen usage, more waist.
Mine do great at these temps and are very active and still eat like champs.

76-86f

79-83 winter-summer
lots of flow as well, 2 fx 5 's on the go!
And an air pump, with 2 air stones
