I have a tank that is 40" long, by 36" wide by 20" tall. How long/ how many rays would work in that tank? I have one motoro and planning to get some more. I know I will have to upgrade later and that will not be a problem, I am just wondering about how long it takes for them to grow, as my motoro is about 6". The tank used to be a sump at a fish store which is why its such akward dimensions, but its about 125 gallons.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. THanks!

You can probley go for a long time with them in there but you will have to upgrade to somthing lik 8*3*2 or better 8*4*2 but that will be fine for a while

I agree. That size would be good for awhile for young rays. As for growth rates..... I've seen a female hit 18" within 18 months. Motoros can reach 12" across the disk by the time they are a year old.

Keep this in mind along with how long you plan on waiting to get a bigger tank. If it's going to be awhile before the new tank, Don't keep more than two motoros in your smaller tank.
