So my first ray that people said wasnt a flower is not P. schroderi it is P. motoro 'orange flower peru' (a wild male with orange flower pattern from peru) and who ever said flowers dont come from peru is mistaken they come from peru and colombia according to a very reliable source. I just wish i knew what the female motoro actually is. I got her from another member so i cant say but she originally came from jeff rapps. So here is some pics to enjoy.

They seem to be warming up to each other quite nicely. They are eating massivore, market shrimp and silversides.

Looking good. Is that a blowup kiddie pool???

yeah sure is lol I have the 2 rays 16" and 18", 2 azul peacock bass around 11 or 12", 4 oscars 3 of which are around 13", a 31" silver arow, a 21" clown knife, a 10" red belly pacu, a 7" yellow acara, a 14" florida gar and 4 common plecos all well over a foot long. A few pieces of slate, 2 tropical lily pads and one hardy lily and thats about it. My rare pair of oscars have spawned a few times in there. I wasnt sure about the pool and viewing from above but it really is awesome to see. The tropical lilys arent doing to well because the plecos like to dig all the dirt out of the pots so i have a lot of dirt on the bottom of the pool instead of in the pots lol. But they have fun it seems so it is w/e.

Lmfao!!!!!! That's awesome and hilarious at the same time!!

I get a kick out of it daily, so do all my friends that come to see it. Nobody really believes i have a swimming pool in my basement but i figure a 1000 gallon tank would probably cost 6k to buy brand new maybe? $75 pool is much more economical. And it is pretty sturdy too the walls are pretty thick. It got a small pin hole in it so i went to the pool store and got a patch kit, problem solved for 10 bucks. It was just a temporary thing until i built a larger plywood tank but i decided to make it permanent until i can find a warehouse to rent, then ill set up a few pools like this. Only ill buy real swimming pools then. Not planning on ever buying a big fish tank, too expensive when you can go economical. It allows me to invest in more important stuff like top notch filters and such :headbang2

you might want to look into an intex hard side pool. i have seen those inflatable ones pop. wouldn't want to come home to that. did you go back and see that it was labeled as the "orange flower" i saw that exact description on his stock list before.

yeah i got that name from jeff. it is a hard side intex pool the only thing inflatable is the ring at the top. well its pretty thick anyway. it would suck to come home to the whole thing down but im never away from the house more than an hour at a time and there is always someone here. I have some 100 gallon tubs for fresh water that are ready to house those fish if such a thing were to happen.

Weren't we just discussing if you have the money for the fish you have money to properly house them or you should sell them to someone who does?

Not sure many ray keepers are going to condone keeping rays long term in a kiddie pool. They could put a barb through or possibly chew through this thing don't you think?

thats why i was saying to go with the full intex hard side above ground pool. they are a cheaper way, yet are not going to be a problem for the rays. he seems ready for the meltdown so waiting and watching is always fun...

Yeah get a hard sided pool we have one for swimming used to be a native pond a long time ago its solid I've had those soft sides before and had holes blow out the entire thing also what keeps the aro from jumping?
