So this morning i woke up and walked into my office where my tank is setup and right away noticed that my ray was trying to eat something....i watched in confusion for a minute then i started lookikng around the tank to see what was missing.....yesterday i added to the tank a chiclid, cant remember right now witch breed. So i grabbed a net and lifted my ray a little and the chiclid wipped outta there in a hurrey. Hes okey, i little scrached up, missing a few fins....a little less cocky....heres some pics.....oh and what type of string ray i this? It was a xmiss present from my gf....

Looks like a marble motoro varient to me. Beautiful fish. I like the dempsey too. :)

Thats a beutiful stingray. Not sure on the species bc it doesnt look like just one type. I would have to say it is a marble motoro though. Great great great ray though amazing patter. Deffinatly take the cichlids out.

You don't know what kind of fish you have in your tank:confused:

That is a nice girl friend you have to buy you such an awesome ray for christmas. Is this your first ray?

Remove the cichlids... Common Jack dempseys are alot easier and less expensive to come by than rays..especially the one you have there which seems to be a marbled motoro variant...and a nice one at that.

thats a jack dempsey and im surprised you got to it in time with that ray in there. they are killing machines, i wouldnt mix fish with them

well jack is more less dead anyway....the stores wont take him back and i have nowhere else for him....from hat i saw tismorning im not worried about the ray, he can hold his own, and jack is staying well away from him now....Ive had lotsa stingrays-just not any that were almost 2 feet long from head to tail.....i think hes great but i wouldnt have bought him.....was over a grand and to big for my tank.....my tank is only 270 gallons

Nice ray and a nice GF too! Ray too big for your tank? When's your birthday? Hint, hint!:D
