so im thinkin about gettin a ray. im about to start my sticky reading conquest. so my question is where can i find a ray pup with reasonable pricing? thanks in advance

All depends on what ray you are wanting. Do your research and figure out what your tank is suitable for first and then go from there.

after reading all of the stickies on rays here i want a smaller ray for now cuz im still with my parents, so just to start i'm thinking a potamotrygon scobina or a potamotrygon reticulata. whichever one is hardier

how are they hard to keep just hard to ween onto pellets or?

They create a large amount of waste need a large amount of food which means you will need to change a ton of water

Rays can be very sensitive to ammonia and Nitrites and ph swings

You just have to make sure you know exactly what you are doing because any mistake can be magnified with the bio-load a ray puts on a system

well i have a marineland hob filter and a fluval 4 plus for the juvie tank (a 75) then i talked to my friend who has a 150 and he said he'll take em when they outgrow my tank. i kno it may be inadequate but i can always upgrade. (thanx for all the input so far).

On a 75 even with a juvie ray you are looking at needing more filtration. A juvie ray would outgrow your 75 I am thinking within the year. I have never had Scobina nor have I seen one for sale local not sure how hard they are to come by. I have reticulata and have heard that they are not a hardy ray however I have had nothing but good luck with them. Then again they are in a 600 gallon system with excellent filtration and water change schedule :) I wish you the best of luck, however I would say you are not ready for a ray yet, based on your tank size and filtration. These animals need more devotion and care than I think you are able to provide to them at this current moment. I commend you for doing some research though prior to getting into rays so many people do not.

Couldn't have said it any better than that.:)
