RAYS AND ARO

I am thinking about getting a pair of ray pups. I already have an 18" super-red aro in my tank. Will my aro likely kill the rays? Should I take a chance and try it? I was thinkiing of selling my aro first and then get rays but now as I see how the aro is turning out I think I might keep it.

i have retic pups with a small jar now...see alot of pics with aros and rays...might want to start with larger rays so the aro wont try and eat them...

I think its a big risk personally i wouldnt risk it- any chance of getting bigger juveniles to be safer? just my imput

Have tried with mixed results. Most of the time, they are fine though.

Everyone will add their personal experience on this topic and unfortunately that isn't going to give you one definite answer
simply I think if you are willing to take the risk that it might not work and have a back up plan then go for it
getting a larger ray definitely sounds like a good idea however

i have never had any problems even with new born ray pups and 24 inch aros

That seems like a pretty large size difference....... I'd be concerned.

rays are not like other small fish for 1 they are round and flat and 2 they would probably kill a fish if they ate it
