Anyone have any positive or negative experiences with odoes and rays

I have a large odoe and i will be buying a motoro pup in the near future trying to decide if i should keep the odoe or not

It would be out of character for my odoe to attack anything that isnt a frozen silverside or krill and there are also 3 red hook silver dollars in the tank which he doesnt bother with

Thanks in advance for any info :)

No, trust me!
In my opinion, unless tankmates are much bigger than the rays you keep, there are no good tankmates for them. In your case, the motoro will eventually outgrow the odoes by a lot. They will hunt smaller fish down, whether it be bottom dwelling catfish or odoes that swim near the surface, it'll only be a matter of time.
I lost so much to my physco rays (discus...silver dollars...armatus...scomb...rhaphiodon vulpinus...a couple hundred of very small tetras...the list goes on...)! Don't make the same mistake!

Rays and Odoe should be fine, unless your ray's up in the 18" plus neighborhood.

I've kept rays and many different kinds of fish together and here's what I've found... Large scaled fish seem to do just fine. Small or scaleless fish are MUCH more prone to attacks.

I've had Dorado, Armatus, Tats, Rhaphs, Scombs, Clown Knives, and ghost knives all mauled by rays.

I've had no issues with Gar, Odoe, or Aros being attacked.

I've kept Odoe with rays for 2 years. 1st shoal of Odoe was in my pond with 18" rays with no issues, and I currently have 10 Odoe housed with my Juvie Marbles. NEVER had any kind of issues whatsoever except for the 10 Odoe not letting the 1st 1/2 lb of food hit the bottom of the tank.

He is around the 12" mark maybe a bit over. I am worried about the ray not the odoe it will be a long time before he would look like food

I've kept a couple small 3-4" dorado with rays that were 3.5"-6" at the time without a problem. My current dorado is now 10"+ and the rays are now 4.5"-7.5" and still doing fine. I think it will be fine it you have a good size tank.
