I'm sure this has been asked many times but I was wondering if this was an ok combination? I currently house 1 Motoro (6" disk). I do have 6-7 fancy plecos and want to know what you thought if I put one or two in the ray tank to keep the driftwood clean and pick up scraps. Lmk thanks guys!

Keep to the panaque plecos as they will leave the rays alone. I currently have 2 big watermelon plecos in my ray tanks and they don't bother with the rays and do a pretty good job cleaning up. Be prepared to clean you filter socks or sponges more often as these plecos clog them up with saw dust from rasping on the driftwood. I wouldn't try to keep these types of plecos without driftwood. I actually move them around to my other tanks for a couple weeks at a time and they do some good cleaning of the driftwood for me! LOL

whilst it is possible. i personally beleive that its plecos are too often blamed for sucking rays discs when its actually other rays.

i have done this myself and had the same marks appear when i have removed the pleco in question. the same marks that a blamed the pleco for after reading that plecos sucked the rays disks.

i have allways had a common pleco in my tank / tanks with rays and never had a problem that wasnt also there when the pleco was removed.

hope it helps :)

x2 i have never had issues w/ Panques and "delicate fish" i woulnd't trust any omnivorouse species of pleco and obviousely any predetory ones.. not all plecos are "algae eaters" stick to the veggies imo... and don't forget rays have taken out plecos as well..
