On a boat!
So, I've been wanting to vary my rays' diets and have been experimenting with different foods. Their main diet is massivore with occasional fish fillets, shrimp, etc. Enjoy!

Yes, thanks. You can actually here them crunching the shells. They enjoy them a lot. Too bad they are slow growing and I am afraid to feed them from uncertain sources.

You do know that snails are carriers of many different parasites.

True, You should boil them first.

Also do the rays eat the shells?

Either way, great rays! I would just put a black background to avoid less stress.

Yeah man, I've raised these snails for a long while. I'll catch them out of my filters, etc. And grow them out in my shrimp tank until they are decent sized. I wouldn't just feed them any ole' snail.

Boil the snails? Seriously?? Never thought of that, but I don't think it's necessary. Like I said, these were grown in my own tanks.

As for the background... I may just do that, but not for controlling stress (none evident), but maybe for aesthetics.

Thanks for your answers. When I catch Frogs or something for my Aro, I do a treatment with an anti-parasite medicine first.

But if you raise your snails then forget it. If you had a substrate you would see the snails buried and the rays fanatic to discover them.

As for the background, they don't seem to have stress but if something happens it's always better, also as you mentioned for aesthetics looks good :)

May I ask what are all the fish you keep there and the size of the tank?
