Is there any rays suitable for my 6x2x2? ive heard that motoro get to large for my tank, i woudnt mind growing some on if they grow slow. then selling them once theyre to large for the tank. any suggestions of ray species i can go for to suit my tank??

Thanks

When I was looking into rays a while ago, I found that the only stingray that could stay in a 180-220 was the true tea cup sting ray the Hystrix. Which is near impossible to find this days and if you do they have a huge price tag on them, because I think they are endangered and/or illegal for export.

Ah thats a shame! i will have to keep an eye out for some, maybe theyre easier to obtain in the uk! i will definately look into to motoro's to grow out. i am desperate for some rays. being an oddballer myself. cheers for the help!!

A 6x2x2 will work for a young <5" P. cf hystrix for a good long time, maybe even life for a male. The Brazilian export ban has been lifted, you should see them soon. I paid $125 for my little P cf hystrix I got two days ago!

that is good to know, I will have to keep an eye out :D

you could also keep a motoro in there for about 2 years maybe 3... but then will need much wider tank.

Jd7.62 is right you could keep a hystrix for a LONG time in a 6x2x2, maybe life.
Hopefully they will start showing up more.
Nickdog has some hystrix for sale for $375.00 and are CB.
