rays giving hickie

so i have a 6" male ray and he has 2 white spots looks like one of the female rays are sucking on him. the female rays are 7-8 inches. is this common with rays. i was thinking about separating them. i was thinking of pulling the male out and reintroducing him later on when he gets a bit bigger or would the female just be very territorial when i reintroduce him? hope i make sense. btw water is ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0.

tank mates??? add some salt. do a good tonic treatment @ 1 pound per 100 gallons

if you have the means seperate them for now... cant hurt and how about some pix

I would look more at the FH. How big is it (FH) and keep an eye on him.

Did you actually see him do it? I agree with Turkey, looks like a pleco has been
grazing.

no plecos in the tank, and I have seen the male doing it.

maybe the fh is picking on the ray??? could be a possibility
