Out of faucet water is 8-8.1 ph. Anyone keep rays in ph like this?
Probably will keep a motoro or hystrix

My tap water is 8.3. I've been keeping rays for 4 years. Have some 8-week old pups that were born in it. Doesn't seem to be a problem. I have motoros and leos.

I have my Motoros in ph8 no problems. Biggest problem is swings in pH. Acclimatize them properly and keep the pH as constant as you can and you won't have any issues.

Personally I don't think the Ph level is as dangerous as the Ph swings are with rays. Especially when consistent water parameters are key. My tap Ph is near 8 and never had a problem cause I wouldn't change the tap parameters just added prime and made sure there was no ammonia build up or drop due to constant water changes or auto drip.

What is a good temp range. Been thinking about setting up my lily pond in the basement (4x8x2) for a breeding setup for rays. I like regular Motoros the best except for that real long tailed species that isn't imported.

My retics are in High PH/GH/KH and TDS pretty high... keeping them at 80ish and they are growing faster then what info says they do =/ I did drip acclimate them when i first brought them home. keep the nitrates low and water otherwise pristine and you shouldn't have much issue imo.
