Recently added 2 pbass
10 and 11 inch.
I noticed the bigger one was taking an interest in the rays eye. Didnt take a bite. but lips just got very close. The ray pushed his eyes inwards to avoid.
This happened once in 8 days.. since I added the bass.
Are they being inquisitive and curious...

Or has anyone had p bass eat or bite a rays eyes off?

Rays are all 12 inch

Ade, I've always had bass with my rays, wether it be 4" pups with 6" bass all the way up to 16" bass with various size rays between 12" - 18" and have had no problems at all... Be interested to know if anyone else has though?

Kept rays and bass together many times never had a issue with it, bass are pretty much stay middle or top of the tank, only time iv seen any of my bass go near the rays is when there is food on the bottom of the tank

That's good. I don't think I've ever read a post where I've heard rays eyes bitten by p bass.
I know of motoro bitten eyes off of a leo... and some aggressive African cichlid doing the same.

Thanks for feedback back sam / alan. ;)

I never had a bass go after a rays eyes.

Seems all my bass end with the same fate though... Dosnt matter how big they are a prego female leo loves to eat their heads off

I've kept bass and rays with no problems, But it sounds like you may want to trade that guy out. He may be the one bass that likes ray eyeballs.

I would be more worried about the pbass as my rays have killed quite a few. You may just have a pbass with an eye fetish!
