Hi guys, i was planning to purchase a 7" vittatus, will it be ok if comm with rays? Tank size was 6ft x 3.5ft x 2ft, housed with 6" pdr pair, 7" MM pair, and 6" sakura pair, 2x 3.5" silver dollar and 1 5" albino pleco.. Thanks

putting a pleco in is a HUGE risk man. they suck the mucus off of the rays and then makes them susceptible to sickness and disease. i'd get rid of the pleco if you want rays. also, do you have sand in the tank? its best to stick with fish that stay on the TOP of the tank so they dont stress out the rays, but if you have some large motoros it usually doesnt matter. but stay away from bottom dwellers like syno cats, plecos, loaches, etc. cuz they'll take the rays food before they can get to it.

i have comm them for about 3 months already, nothing has happened bro. my pleco seems not to disturb the rays, as it was scared of them, when the pleco moved to the bottom of the tank to suck on algae, my pdr male scared it away. This was my second albino pleco in the tank, the 1st one was killed by my male pdr also :D, so i think it is harmless.. there is no sand in my tank..

cheers

lol, your a lucky guy then, especially because its a rare pleco. fish are individuals so you never know how one will react. NORMALLY a pleco will go after them, not to be mean intentionally, its just instinct to go after "mucusy" things, and that is EXACTLY what a ray is, lol. you got a good pleco my friend.

ive come to the conclusions rays like to eat ATF...
