are they not supposed to be together b.c of the cichlids will pick on them or is it b.c they are very aggressive eaters

couldnt handle taking a bite would be my fear cichlids are to aggresivefor a ray. i have seen them with them i wouldnt spend the moneyon a ray and take a chance

what kinda of cichlids are you talking about? My brother has S.A. cichlids, geos to be specific, with his rays and there is no problem..other than the damn geos stealing the earthworms when trying to feed the rays. Did have a red head tapajos that wouldn't leave two of the rays alone, but other than that, he has not had any problems

geophagus seem popular with rays, most other cichlids are going to be aggressive eaters and compete for food...meaning more food in and then more waste /bio load on the tank.

I would stick to rays only

what cichlids are u thinking about keeping.

Gentle cichlids like Severums have worked for me thus far.. I wouldn't try something like an Oscar although I am curious. As stated previously, the risk is too great for such an expensive fish like a ray. I'd say, if you try it, be prepared to separate the cichlids or privide them a new home immediately.

I have four discus with my motoro and they get along fine so far. the only problem is getting food to my stingray because i'm feeding cubes right now... any suggestions?
