Evening all,

The new tank arrived today and with it's gargantuan size, relaqtively speaking, I am contemplating rays as the bottom level occupants. I'm looking at Leo or P14 but the biggest problem is my Wolf. I thought I'd ask the Characin boys first whether or not anyone has tried Curupira with rays or any other wolf species?

What are peoples thoughts to the combo?

Ta.

Sounds like a pretty cool combo, You can try it just watch the aggression. The wolf might not enjoy having floating discs around him...

Hard to say thinking since they're both primarily bottom dwellers there might be a problem. The wolf might get annoyed by some of the ray's activity and might snap or vice versa he might get stung. Though I've had catfish with stingrays and never had a problem with stinging, and some of my cats are pretty active. So my real concern would be the wolf.

from wht ive heard it dosnt work. wolf always ends up biting the rays

Golds are pretty fun to watch school around.

yeah, I've already got a pair and there are two more for sale so a Quadruplet would be interesting. Only problem is that the new ones are only 3-4". Mine are 10 and 12" and live with my 16" Curupira so baby wolves are a no no in the main tank for now...

Hi,

If I knew what a wolf is or Curupera, I could help. Just wrote to large articles on those for PFK (Practical Fishkeeping in the UK), in issue August and issue September, 2010.

There it tells you all the mates, friends and enemies of rays.

All the very best,

from a collector
