Rays with plecos

Hi guys its my first time to own a 5inches motoro ray I have a 250 gallon tank I also have a 3 inch pleco can they go together or should I get rid of the pleco ?

I think from what i read that the pleco can suck on the ray and take its slime coat. What kind of pleco is it?

ditch the pleco. occasionally they do ok together but 99% of people will tell you there is serious risk with any pleco and stingray

Thank you for oyur reply and 1 more thing I also have a bichir thats 4 inches long is it ok for me too keep it with the ray or should i also ditch it ?

Its a common albino pleco

Get rid of both as common plecos can suck on the ray and bichir's have been know to bite rays discs.

Can it be a bad combo...yes. I have bichir and plecos with my rays. Properly sized and fed, its up to you. My rays have killed 3 plecos so far. Only the larger ones survive. Watch for problems.

I have a couple plecos I have kept with my rays, right now I have a green phantom in my ray tank and its doing really well, im more worried about the pleco then I am worried about the ray.

thanks for the reply got rid of the pleco and the bichir just to be sure how about angelfish and redhooks are they suitable companion for the ray ?

angels and silver dollars will be fine for now but once the ray gets big will be eaten
