Hi,

I'm new to the forum and have read tons and also viewed every RBP video i find.

I have a few ?'s, I apologize if they've been asked before.

I have 4 RBP in a 60 gallon tank right now, they're extremely young, i would guess about 4 weeks now from looking and comparing my fish to others i've seen in videos.

When i first bought them they were pretty much "see through" meaning i could see there stomach insides (food and poop i suppose).

The store i purchased from said feed them flakes, but now they seem to spit them out and i end up vacuuming out most of them.

Now i feed them Blood Worms but they don't eat many, and frozen brind shrimp they taste it and leave it on the bottom.

What is the ideal food to give these guys?

Also they seem to be growing a bit in my first week with them and are no longer having that skeleton look, How fast will they grow approx.?

Thx, i have tons of questions but I'll ask only a few at a time.

Hi welcome to MFK.
You could try start feeding them small piece of raw shrimp or fish fillet. they might not eat at first but eventually they will learn that those are feed and will start eating.
if they will eat floating food such as flakes (doesn't matter they spit out or not) then you can try to get them onto pellets and you don't have to bother feeding them raw shrimp and fish fillet.
they grow pretty fast when young, probably around 1" per month, usually will grow to 5-7" within the first year then slow down to maybe an inch a year. RBP is capable of growing to 12" but rarely you'll see over 10" ones in aquarium, not saying it's impossible but will take some time and lots of care to get them very big.

Thx, i'll try and put small fish fillet and shrimp pieces in there, I guess they already have teeth?

I'll buy some pellets also, for some reason they don't eat off the bottom or maybe they just haven't learned too.

OFF TOPIC:

When resting:

2 always stay at the top
1 underneath at bottom
and the other lives inside a castle decoration

Is this normal?

Yeah, they all kind of establish territories so that's normal. Right now i have one in the current, one inside a log and one drifting beside the log.

At 2 inches though.......that's like nickel size, frozen cubes are still good. Bloodworm might work.
