RBP and Tetra

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I had quite a few other species with my p's. It is always a toss up, and also depends on the size of your p's.
How big are they?

I hear tetra are only good in schools. I would buy 4 or 5 to start but is that a bad idea to have so few?

Tetras are pretty much your best bet- something like an emperor or a neon. Other good candidates are plecos or some kind of bottom dwelling catfish.

That being said, the rule of thumb with Piranha is never put in a fish with them that you would feel sorry if you lost. They might "peacefully" coexist in a tank with some tetras in the grand scheme, doesn't mean some aren't lost.

I've heard of this working, I believe the guy said he had a lot and when one went missing he barely would notice. Maybe try 6 at first and if they don't keep chasing them all over then add some more... let me know how it works out for you and how many P's do you have and how big is your tank...so I can do it with mine if you succeed.

Was that guy "JP"? I don't want to speak for him but i believe he tosses them in with rhoms. I'll sure he'll want to share his experience himself

PS. I just found out yesterday that i'm being laid off so if you see anyone in Oregon lookin for 6-7 inch (measured a couple yesterday) red bellies let me know.

hate it for you and your P's. It's a tough job market out there. Even for "recession proof" jobs like mine.
