Hi All,

I have 2 RBP and because of some reason i cant get more pir. I was wondering if i could place a pacu with them since they are from the same "family"?

Interesting idea - might work as juvies but adults I highly doudt it. The sub-family is different RBP being Pygocentrus and the Pacu being Serrasalminae making them related up the tree but not down far enuff that they would cohab well in confined spaces. The Pacu would have a far greater demand on the food supply and grow much larger. I suppose if you had a large enuff enviorment anythings possible.

Just go for it. sooner or later you will realize that a pacu is a horrible fish to keep in the home aquarium unless you have a 1,000 plus gallon tank. who know to it might just be a good snake for you RBP
