Any raw shrimp, or white fish meat I can get my hands on at the market will do for my pygos....The frozen Krill found lfs's all around is a must for my p's....For their staple diet, my youngest shoal of 5 inch individuals are trained to eat Hikari Carnivore Pellets...I've passed on feeders for awhile, but may start the Convict breeding program again(I have a spare breeder tank that's been empty for sometime)....Frozen adult mice, hmm, have'nt tried it yet....Pinkies, yes, once a month.....

Most say a variaty ." I agree " . Mine get a main diet of a Protein rich pellets .
They may get a 6 to 8inch koi or oscer twice a month . I use to feed feeders more
often , But it gets old . Know I just like to watch them take down big stuff . and it cost$ .
Other than that , Its all pellets

Yeah, I threw in an oscar last month....It probably lasted 2 seconds, the pack treated him no differently from a rosy or goldie....One type of "feeder" I'm intrested in nowadays are pinkies and frozen adult mice:naughty: .....

A feeder a few times a month is fine, in fact good for the piranhas i recon.
But i just came across a bloke who uses 5 feeders a week...and that’s the piranha's sole diet... ridiculous.

Pinkies are great feeders and good fun to watch, but there is not much food on them to make a meal. While frozen adult mice make a mess of the water and filtration with their fur/hair. I tell you what it good fun to watch, adds variety and makes no more mess than a big feeder fish....those adult mice they are always furless. I can not think of an exact name for them, but do you know what i mean?

Ah got some pictures off google, just typed in ‘hairless mice’.

those are rats, not mice, and they are also a rare breed and too pricey to make good feeders, and no true rat lover is going to sell you one just to feed to your Ps. you should not feed P's mice IMO. lean beef is best in the way of mammal meat.

Wow learn something new everyday. Guess rat lovers around here are grateful as a local petshop always has a few stocked.
And I had not used common sense in realising something so small could not be mouse lol.
