hi guys. i have 6 rbp from 3 to 5 inches in a 55 gallons, soon moving into a 77. i had to remove all my tank accessories in order to get rid of a phosphate problem (gravel, plant, wood...all) and it was at first the apocalypse in there. but da day after, my bunch started to get use to it n now they are much more active than they werre before. not they are nervous, they just seem to appreciate having free space for swimming! would like to have your opinion cauz i thought the more hiding spots was the better but now im questioning myself about the ratio ''free-space vs hiding place''. i mean, they seem happier since there's nothing left in there....

hey whats up hightimez! haha...jpensais pas voir bcp de francophones sur ce site...well i know 77 is not big enough for 6 ps but thats all i have for now. i plan to get a bigger one, but the thing is i've been told by my local supplier that 55 gallons was enough for 6 reds. (told me they need 10 g each n that i would probably loose one) i know now its more like 20 but im tryin to upgrade slowly given my budget. but the thing is, that doesnt really answer my original question, but thanx for ur comments anywaz.

so do anybody have an idea of an aproximate ratio of free space for swimming for reds?

tanx again

alot of people go with no decor when housing p's. the idea behind that is to kind of make them get used to movement outside of the tank and to being out in the open.

you need 20 gallons per full grown fish. i like the setup though. you def. want to have hiding places but you also want to have enough space for them to swim. i think youve done that. you need to look into a 150 though bra.
