Found this on craigslist, and unlike most craigslist "piranhas" these fish really look like piranhas. Should I report it, tell the guy, is it Department of Fish and Game or what?
I checked the sticky and they look like piranhas soo...what should I do?

Here's what the ad says:

"I have 4 Piranha roughly 4-6 inches. $20 buck each.

They must be in a large tank with each other, or Larger fish.

Smaller fish will disappear!"

it could be fish and game, could be just some average joe trying to get rid of his fish without know any better.

dont do anything, its not your business.

I trend to agree with this, there are org. out there whos job is to deal with this let them do it...............

I just don't understand people whose first instinct when they see a victimless crime is to narc somebody out. The climate in Washington state is hardly warm enough to support a population of feral piranhas, and this guy isn't even trying to release them into the wild, he's trying to sell his P's to other hobbyists. I don't know...maybe I'm crazy, but why get the authorities involved? I guess send him an email and let him know that it's illegal in case he doesn't know, but generally, if you own piranhas in an illegal state you usually know.

It's not victimless if the media gets ahold of the story. How do you think they became illegal in the first place?

Eh, I had piranhas when i lived in Washington. Portland and Vancouver are on the state line and just a 10 minute drive from Vancouver you're able to find 2 pet shops selling piranhas.

I understand states make their own rules but washington is definetely the colder climate of the 2 states where piranhas would have no chances of surviving beyond summer.

I'd just let the owner be, he probably knows they're illegal but it's relatively harmless as long as he's being responsible.

You want to come stick your hand in my tank? I bet you they jump out trying to get away from you.
