rbp skiddish

Hey is there any way to train your rbp's to not be so skidish run full speed at the glass?

i went to check the tank today and noticed I couldn't check the temp. why you ask? because I'm new to rbp's and had a glass thermometer in there. Luckily for me only the outside broke not the inside glass with the liquid.

If you have the tank in a high traffis area they will eventually get used to ppl.

how big are they and how long have you had them?

Just give them a chance to get used to you. Mine when they see me now swarm to the top waiting for food.

when dealing with piranhas ive learned it all depends on the individual fish! every fish has its own personality! rb's are very skittish but it takes time for them to come out of there shell but sometimes they remain that way! some serras are skittish to it all depends on the personality witch can take months, days, years to come out! theres nothing you can do besides be patient and keep at them. and black water extract wont work either! just give it more time.

bossrhom is right, only time will tell how skittish they will be. the more used to ppl the better. like the ones at the zoo near me dont react at all really when pp walk by.

they are 6" and I've only ahd them a few weeks. and yes they are in the main traffic area of my house. I'll give them some time. thanks.
