This has prolly been asked a hundred times before, but I have had RBP's in the past, and they have always ended up having each other for dinner as they got bigger. What is the best size tank would I need to keep a pair in?

Question!...a mating pair or just 2 random pair?

If it a mating pair 75gallon to 90gallon are perfect for it.

But if it for random pair no tank size are good. RBP can tolerate each other in group of 3 or more. But 2 is a bad # for RBP to live in a tank together. They will fight over aggression and territories.

i read somewhere in piranha-fury that even numbers are better than odd because they tend to pair up and pick on the weakest. not sure if its true but eveyone seemed to agree.

I wouldn't keep a pair of pygo's for the fear of them fighting. Certainly keep one on its own (I've seen big Caribe and Piraya solo and very impressive). Or 5+ but for that you'll need something like a 6x2x2 and mega filtration.

I disagreed on that one...Some time if you lucky 2 are good in a tank but not always.

Best bet is to keep 3 or more...because pygo do well with group.

With one you'll want 30 gallons and up. With 4 90 gallons and up.

With 2 one will always be stronger than the other, and that weaker one will be killed.

he'll grow like a weed on ya, I have a 29 (which was as close as I could afford to a 30) and my little guy's baby colors are fading fast!!
