I was just curious if theres anything to help my RBP's wasteload. i have an emperor 400 in only a 30gallon tank for now with 3RBPS and i always notice that i never completely take out as much of the piranhas poo as i wanted to, so i was curious maybe if i added something into the tank, whether it be live plants or some crayfish or shrimp(as long as they may last) that might help the wasteload.

Also, just curious but why are catfish one of the fish that get added to a piranha tank? are they simply added cause they can kind of hold their own weight with piranhas or is there an actual reason?

There's nothing that eats poop. Catfish will suck it up and make it into finer particles, but good filtration and cleaning it out is the only way to completely rid of it.

I've seen Piranhas in with plecos, oscars, all sorts of things. Not as bad as they're made out to be..

Plants and vaccuuming are your best bet, cats won't eat turds. I've heard of people keeping plecos and various armored cats like raphaels with piranha; the armor, combined with them being nocturnal is probably what keeps them safe.
