I was driving my e-revo in the construction outside (12:00 midnight here in Florida at the time) and one of the 7 cell battery packs exploded! Two of the cells exploded, one of which disapeared, and it sounded like a gun went off... Pics soon

Been wanting a gas powered rc truck, been kicking around a tmaxx, any suggestions? Do I really need to go gas? I hear the batteries now are better than they used to be. Also, its has to be really durable.

I want to get a good nitro RC.

I prefer electric. Many of the electric cars match and sometimes out-perform the gas and nitro. The latter two are just too tedious and sensitive to maintain for me, I like plug and play

Whether you go gas or electric you are still going to have a blast. Electric is quieter, faster (sometimes) and requires less maintenance. If it is your first truck I would go electric. Gas is still great because you don't need to charge your batteries you just need to refuel and I find it fun to work on my truck and rebuild/clean the engine. As far as durability goes imo all trucks are durable but any truck will break if you drive it full speed into a wall. With that been said I jump my tmaxx 10' high onto grass and it has not broken yet.

I would look into either an hpi or Traxxas truck. Some say the hpi trucks are more durable but they are more or less the same. Whatever you do don't buy that Chinese junk.

Gas is more satisfying, I've had both, plus the gas mixture is 20-30% nitro, hpi makes affordable rtr kits but companies like ofna and hot bodies make sick setups!

Whatever u get buy a FAIL SAFE!
