I've heard RCK are more on the "agressive" side than a Ck, is this true? I would like to get a rck...but can't risk the gar :grinno:

Depends how big the tank and hide places

they seem to get aggressive when threatened and show they can defend themselves.

if secure, they tend to be sorta docile.
i have one at 13 to 14 inches. and growing!
when it first arrive din he tank, it bit the other fish and the arowana at night, nipped some fins
now its fine!
but dependson the fish

RCK i find is more shy... meaning it might feel threatened more, so it could translate to attack, but if you make it feel secure in a big tank, it should be ok.

Depends on the fish itself. In my experience, I've had many CKs and a few RCKs. And out of all of them I've only had one RCK that was "aggressive" but not really. It was more timid if anything when it had tankmates. I later had him in a tank by itself (well...it had 2 Plecos in there too) and that's when if started getting bolder. I put another fish in there and it started nipping at it just a bit. When I say a bit, only when the fish got next to the RCK or if it got in it's way. Otherwise, it left it alone. RCKs. in my experience, are more timid than regular CKs.
