you guys think my 9" royal knife could coexist with a 6" lima shovelnose? i was hoping if anyone had any experience keeping these two together. my knife is on the aggressive side he already banged up a 6" australian aro. are limas tough enough for my knife?

alright thanks for your info. your knife banged him up good. guess my knife will be riding solo . i almost bought a lima on impulse because it was on sale but i'm glad i didn't

what size tank? if you keep a fish that will stay out of the knifes territory it's possible. Bottom dwellers are a bad idea though

hes in a 48x24x31 all by himself right now. trying to budget for the monster tank. hopefully by january i can afford it. i think i'll try an aro again but grow it out more before i introduce it.

you shold be good thats sounds fine, dont worry bout it ur royal will take care of himself

i hav a lima too

Have have both in my tank and never had a single problem...I think big thing is I bought them both the same day both around 3-4" and never give them live food, they are now both hand fed and calm...I actually have two very small dwarf guramis along with them in this tank and niether the clown or shovelnose ever bother them

I doubt it, they were in the tank before my knife and shovelnose, and it's been over two year's. But you never know I suppose I could wake you one morning and find them gone I just highly doubt it, my fish arent hunters they have never had to fend for themselves for a food supply, they know I am the one who feed's them they have no need to get their own food....Its no different then raising cats and dogs together or even birds and cats.
