I was wondering when your fish are most active? I have a royal clown knife fish and most of the time he stays tucked away under a driftwood stump. He comes out later at night (11pmish) to feed and swim around and then around 2 am he goes back under his stump. Lately he's been getting active between 9am and 11am. Is this a normal change as he grows? Do these fish become more diurnal with age?

By nature, they are nocturnal. In an aquarium setting, they vary depending on the fish's comfort level. I've had CKs that never came out in the day light and I've had lots that will venture out during the day light hours. Some didn't mind the aquarium light, some will run and hide when the lights are on. It really varies, but all in all, I find that most fish get used to the light and will venture out most of the time.

Normal behavior. My rck swims around all day and night, but I also use dimmer lighting than most fish keepers.
