Ok I know most people complain about not being able to get thier fish to eat pellets, but I'm the opposite. My Red Devil will only eat pellets. I figured I should try to get some beefhearts, bloodworms or something in there but he wont even go near them. I have only tried frozen so far. Is pellets only ok or do I really need to add another source of food?

IME pellets usually have alot of nutrients they need and you would probably be fine with just them. I also agree on trying shrimp to mix it up a little

Pellets are better in many cases than those other foods. Many great fishkeepers feed only pellets. Just make sure it's a premium brand (NLS, Omega, etc.).

Also, if you get a variety of pellets so he gets a different array of nutrients and supplements.
