Can anyone assist me in growing my RD fry a little quicker?? What should i feed them for them to grow faster. I am feeding them crushed flakes right now.

i have raised lots of devil fry and hikaryi blood worms are great they are vitamen enhanced beefheart live black worms and brine shirmp chopped shirmp when they get about an inch feed them 5 or 6 times a day change that water and they grow like crazy.

yes water change= growth 50% water change 1 time a week and the black worm and the blood worm are very small if your fry are only a couple weeks old than u need to feed them frozen baby brine shrimp daphina i think is the right name that type of shrimp it comes in cubed frozen packs at the lfs petsmart has the best price on it in my area.

back when i had my breeding pair...i used to hatch live baby brine and drop them in with some hikari blood worms...theres my 2cents for the night:D

Any fry will thrive on a correct sized live food (the correct size being one that will fit in their mouth!), and hatching your own baby brine shrimp is a great way to achieve this. For a start, you can start a culture any time you want, knowing that within 24 hrs you will have fresh bbs (and you can always freeze what you don't use in time). The other advantage is that hatching your own bbs from "dry" packets helps eliminate bacteria and other infectioin that can be introduced with harvested live food. Supplement the bbs with powdered flake food and watch 'em grow! Good luck.
