got this fish at 1.5 " ,labeled as firemouth...snatched it right away cos its obvious its not...chenged colors at 4"...anybody know what it is and the sex pls...very much appreciated..

It's a nice looking fish what ever it is it has a lot of RD/Midas trates. Is that what they call a Rose Queen? I'm not really up on the names they to give hybirds or the particular combinations involved.
wow!! i got really lucky on this one if thats the case...paid 3 bucks at a local feed store...they have the worst fish display with ich all over but took the risk since he just looked different..killed almost every fish i put it with...10 aussie rainbows were killed...hes beautiful though...
I wouldn't classify it as a Rose Queen although it does look somewhat similar. It almost has more similarities to a Jing Kang Flowerhorn, with all the pretty spangling on the body and the pink area on the front half of the body. Do you know the sex yet?
no not yet..that what i want to know also...i thought its a red devil female so i could try putting it in my male RD tank to see if theyll attempt to breed...but im not gonna do that now as my RD being a lot larger might tear it to pieces...
when i bought this guy it was ugly..dark and barred...it was in a firemouth tank with dead firemouths littered on the substrate.. im sure this guy's got a lot to do with it...
this is the same fish before it completely looked like it is now...i wished it just stayed this way cos its more attractive..but it lost almost all the black spots...
I have seen several lowgrade FH's turn yellow like that. Gourgous fish none the less, sometimes called "Golden Trimacs". Enjoy him, looks great.
