sorry the pix are nont to good one and on his tail fin its curved but about 1/2 inch down there is a point is that normal il try and get a pic

Nice looking RD. You may have to starve him a few days before giving new food items. Survival will kick in long before stravation. Or If he will tolerate tankmates other fish eating while he doesnt may trigger a feeding response as well. GL.

Like savage mentioned starve him for a few days, did you get him used to some snacks/treats? IF you did you might want to try to ween him off that and try to get him back on track with a staple pellet. Could be he just got used to eating some good munchies and now won't eat anything except for that. . . . . . . Nice devil by the way. . . . Anyone else notice a trend of red devil threads? . . . Ha!

the only snack he gets isblood worms once a week and guppies every other week gets 10-15 medium size hikari cichlid gold pellets 2-3 daily and when i walk by he splashed the top of the water with his tail and i give hime 2 pellets man i love my rd hes got an amazing personalaty better than any other pet out there

Yeah that's probably your RD's issue. He knows he'll get a full belly of the cichlid gold pellets so he's too complacent to try anything else. He sounds just like one of my Midases-- when I bought her, she refused to eat anything but what she had been used to (frozen foods). It just so happened that my tank had a humongous algae bloom, and I had no choice but to turn out the lights and not feed for 3 days. When the algae resided, my Midas was like a new girl! She now eagerly eats any and every pellet/flake/frozen food I offer. The "fasting" period will likely resolve your issue. Best of luck to you! You've got a great looking RD.
