Do RD's peel at this size? I thought they peeled at around 3-4". Ive never let my previous fry get this big. I decided to keep this batch and i've got about 6-7 of em that look like they started to peel at 3/4". What do you guys think/know? Sorry about the dark pics but you can see at least 3 that are yellow compared to the others..

They don't peel, they just turn orange, a colour mourph. All will turn orange. Nice tank.

IME they will peel at different rates but usualy the biggest change color first but yeah 2" they will start to turn and most will be done by the time they are 3-4". I have raised thousands of these guys over the years and i love watching them peel.

The process of changing clour is called peeling.

WOW! Great looking devils big train. I'm a little jealous of all those cream sickles.

I'm on my 3rd batch from my F0 pair and some are just starting to peel at 1.5-2". This has been the same experience for the previos two batches. Though a few of those got to 3.5" before pelling.

They could lose the juvenile pattern at any time. I had a barred "What I thought was a barred male" began to change from barred to orange at a little over 10"! Knowing the history of the parents can give you an idea what to expect wit the young.
