Hey everyone. I was wondering, fish stores and people with a lot of fish tanks always are filtered all together. Each tank is connected to each other and the water makes a big circle from tank to tank and through the filter. If one tank has diseased fish, wouldn't the disease spread to all of the connected tanks? The Doctor.

yep. thats why not everyone does it. and why qt tanks are important

It seems like every fish store I've been to has it set-up all connected.

A lot of stores around here just filter with a central air pump. If not, they' use QT tanks or UV.
I have a central system (110, 125, and a 300) and I just use UV if I'm adding a new fish. I've had it up and running for a couple of years with no issues.

its about 50/50 around here... one of my favorite stores has each tank on its own little bubble powered filter..
