Hi. I'm new on the board and am really new to fish. They were sort of forced on me, frankly, but the little buggers have grown on me and I've even named them. We have three silver arowanas, a small lungfish and an eel in a tank about 6 ft. long. Amazingly, they all live together peacefully if not very happily. The arowanas are each about 18" - 22" (about a year and a half old) and in good condition considering they are cramped. I've done quite a bit of research on these fish and know they would be much happier if they each had their own tank, so I am trying to re-home two of the arowanas.

My questions are - 1) other than this forum, where do I find people who are interested in such rare fish? The people who service our tank have no suggestions and Craigslist is not an option - I'm afraid someone will have them for dinner if I give them away for free, and you can't ask for $ for pets there. Los Angeles-area suggestions especially welcome! And 2) how can I tell if the buyer will give them a good home? Are there certain questions that I should ask? Any help is appreciated - thanks in advance!

Craigslist?Ask for a $50 dollar donation or what you want? Ask to put an add up at your local fish store or see if they wanna buy it from you.

Being in California, you'll have no problem just with MFK folks..Do a Buy/Sell thread.

Thank you for all of the responses. I will see how much the actual owner (I'm just the default caregiver) wants for them and will post on the buy/sell thread as recommended. Yes, I have noticed people here love their fish, so hopefully a good home isn't too far off in the future for them!
