hey I moved to a new house and finally setup my the 5ft 150g tank. I dumped the play sand in favor of black sand but kept all the rocks and driftwood. I set the tank up differently and my 6 geos just stay in hiding and chase each other around. Does this mean finding new territory for each? Would dithers help them come out? I previously had 5 SD with them before I moved but I gave them away for lack of space. Had to put the geos in a 50g temporary until we settled in and setup the tank.

Dithers would help. How long have they been in the new set up? They are probably just scared and need some consistency too. Regular feeding should bring them back around.

thank you, today is day 2. is the lip locking and chasing each other a common thing during a new setup? I got them when they where frys and never showed any aggression. I forgot to mention there are also 4 clown loaches with them.

Sounds normal to me.

Just came back from the lfs, rummy nose tetras are on sale, I didnt pick any up yet. Would like to know if they will be safe with the geos?

Rummynose would be a risk, I find they chow down on Tetras smaller then 2" and definately anything under 1". That is normal behaviour if you even just add some rocks, they will fight over territory and who has dominance over what, as long no serious damage is caused and they have sufficient space (which they obviously do) it is nothing to worry about :D

I was watching them for an hour today, and they are really aggressive towards one another. Actually, its just 2 of them. Both are in the bottom corner, 1 is chasing everything out and the other is just biting a rock. SPAWNING??
