Re plumbing FX5

I have a fluval FX5 that I would like to replace the hoses on and make a more permanent setup with pvc piping. Having never done this before what is the best way to seal the joints on the pvc that won't be toxic to a fish and is all pvc fish safe? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

PVC primer and glue usually does the trick.

Oatey (or any other potable water) pvc primer and glue 2 pack found at pretty much any home improvement store. Put it on, let it dry and fill her up
