Just wanted to respost this and give a update. i got him on saturday he is about 7" he didnt eat all day , was kinda worried, but then about 1am right before i went to bed i looked in the tank to see his mouth wide open with a tail sticking out. he nabbed one of my fat red eye tetras. tho not sure he got it down or not as he didnt look fat the next morning but im pretty sure he spit it and my ray got it,

but yesterday i fed frozen krill and he at ALOT of it! i was quite happy.

i do have a question for you aro folks tho. how ofton are you feeding yours? once a day? or more? as i allways feed my ray in the morning and when i do the Aro doesnt eat but will eat later and dinner time feeding.

also how do i tell a M & F apart?

It's highly difficult to sex adult aros & at the size your aro is, it's next to impossible unfortunately. Try feeding it twice a day at that size but once a day is just fine. If you overfeed, sometimes it would stop eating for a few days. It's a natural occurrence. Happy aro keeping. :)
 
I feed my Ray 3 times a day, so i also keep a eye on the aro to see if he eats as well, but so far only once a day for him. :D
 
Nice, glad to hear he is eating for you. I told you he would come around. I usually feed them two times a day until the reach about 12'', but the more you feed the faster they grow.
