I just picked up another 125 tonight and wanted to know the best way to redo the silicone. I want to find some black silicone. I have read a few articles on how to reseal the tank. My only question it," I cut the only silicone on the inside of the tanks but completely leave the silicone along where the two pieces of glass actually meet each other(there is silicone between them right?

Should I put on my new aquarium trim before I reseal it?Should I make a jig to hold the tank in place?

If you're going to go with black silicone, you should completely tear down the tank so the joints are black too. in my experience it's actually less work to tear down the tank and scrape the old silicone completely off, and then reassemble it, than it is to try to get all the old silicone out of the corners.

i just resealed mine. the trim was broken so i decided to take them off, scrape off ALL the old silicone from the inside, cleaned with rubbing alcohol, scraped again, cleaned and then siliconed. i sealed all edges making sure the seal was nice and thick in there. i also used masking tape to mask up an edge for the glue line. (if you mask it with tape, make sure you take the tape off asap before the silicone kinda dries). smooth out the corners with an old credit card or somethin.. i just cut mine out of very thick posterboard and taped the edge. ( i know, ghetto...) i tried looking for black silicone at OSH but they didnt have it so i stuck with the good ol clear one. hope that helps.:)
