How big is your tank? What is your water schedule changing like? Other tank mates?
 
I do a 25% water change twice a week, and cyphon the gravel once a week. The only tank mate is a 10" gibbicep. Tank is 125g.
 
Why does what happen?
Frayed fins?
 
The Tail fin. It's never gotten this bad before. It's happened before but, healed quickly. He's been like this for about a week, and has barely eaten during that time. Today, I he ate "one" small feeder fish. Thanks fellas!
 
most probably your gibby is attacking the aro
remove the gibby
keep the water clean
bump the temp and keep the jar well fed and he should be good
 
that tail rip thing happens to my Jar when he's chasing a feeder or sometimes when he is scared/skittish around people (sudden bursts of speed rips the fin)....i know it looks really ugly, but it heals extremely fast on its own...

just continue w/c as usual..or maybe increase % of w/c.. dont forget the dechlore ;)
